Best Player of all Time?

Who do you think is the best player to have picked up a snooker cue?

Higgins, Hendry, White, O'Sullivan, Davis, Doherty ... ?

Lets get the debate stoked!!

Its definitely O'Sullivan for me! :) The most naturally gifted player, and he has only continued to improve over the years. His temperment is questionable at times, but his attacking style, outstanding safety game, and pace of play make him a joy to watch.

the best player of all time is without doubt Stephen Hendry. His statistics speak for themselves. I agree that Ronnie, when on form is the most entertaining to watch, and with a better temperment may be on a power with Hendry. But the fact is that his temperment lets him down to often and this is the big flaw in his game.

RONNIE O'SULLIVAN...undoubtedly the greatest person ever to pick up a cue. just made his SEVENTH COMPETITIVE 147, along with world titles in 2002 and 2004. legend... flawed character but thats what makes him so exciting to watch. after that...jim carvill mabye?!

I am sorry you Ronnie fans but Gerard has it right,Hendry is without doubt the best player of all time.More titles than anyone else, more century breaks than anyone else and invented the attacking game that all the best players now play.

I THINK THAT WHEN JIM CARVILLE IS NOT SLEEPING HE IS WITHOUT DOUBT THE BEST SNOOKER AND POOL PLAYER OF ALL TIME. HE PLAYS SOME SHOTS WE ONLY CAN DREAM OF IN PRACTICE, AND HE PLAYS THEM EVERY TIME. THATS RIGHT, EVERY SINGLE TIME. WHEN GERARD LAWLESS IS NOT ARM WRESTLING, HE IS ALSO A JOY TO WATCH. HSI SPEED IS SOMETIMES SCARY. FRA MCKENNY.

Speaking of snooker legends? I have a question:

WHICH TWO Q'S SUPERSTARS CAN BACK FROM A RECENT FRIENDLY WITH DIRTY BALLS??
IS IT:
a) I LOVE MY WOMAN
b) ABE SIMPSON
c) "I DID NOT HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH MY DOG"
d) EVERY-SINGLE-TIME!!
e) "HOPE SHE WON'T CALL ME"
f) MR CHICKEN FILLET
g) THE RAPIST

Colonel Saunders expresses his disappointment at reading in the Mourne Observer how the hosts from the Jim Carvill Pool league finished in a disappointing 3rd place at the recent Mid Down Pool Event.

I'm hearing of votes of no confidence in the league chairman.

How did the mighty Sav's do in the Pool last night. Or is Gerard still playing his game.
I hear Maginn's had a 6-0 over the Brandy Pad?

Good win over the Highwaymen on Monday night. Good to see the team do well without the services of their No.1.

Big week this week. Ness at home on Monday - cup first round on Tues and if victorious a possible trip to East Down on Weds night. Since when did Lisburn become part of East Down. My Sat Nav is really confused.

I don't like the idea of the club teams called A and B. Some ideas please.

Q's Young Guns is ok for Lorcan's team in DPK.

What about Lisburn league?
"Q's Every Time", I'm stuck already. Prizes for originality!

I definitely think young Stevie Burns could make it to the top. I've never seen a player who pots thin snick blacks off the spot with the white on the yellow spot. With monotonous regularity he pots them - Every Time - and the Grinder loves him. By the way Jim phones me - not every time - but on Tuesday night - he can't understand why you keep saying every time when in his company. I tried to explain to him that every time he talks about pool and in particular every time he talks about combination shots, he says he goes for them every time. He couldn't agree but I told him he should listen to himself every time he talks about pool, every time.

Fra/Stevie

Ten to Follow start soon. A field of 60 locals go to post for the 2007/08 renewal. It's £25 a skull with £20 going to the season competition, £5 going to the Cheltenham Festival one.

Fra if the list is in the Racing Post, get a couple of photocopies. I take it you can use the copier, what with your sore paw. How's it anyway.
Not sure what I'll put in my weeklt text. Estimated time of arrival 1.30am Saturday morning. Off to the pub now for a few swifties, before taking on Maginn's finest, Gael force Grant in Q's tonight.

That's all for now.

Good to see the Q's big guns have weighed into the forum!!
As for the debate surrounding Q's A and B, the A team sould be called Q's "Blessed", and the B side should be refered to as the "Marty Sharvin won't travel select".

I notice that an anonymous person posted that "Grinder loves Stevie Burns", well I am not one for twisting but it was painfully obvious that he actually "LOVES HIS WOMAN, HE'S A ONE-WOMAN-MAN-WIBBLES-WASHING-MECHINE...."

no wonder they call him "hotpoint"

i think paul hunter is the best snooker player dat eva picked up a snooker cue because he was such a battler, he even kept on playing on da curcuit wen he was going through ke-mo. his masters wins i think are his greatest achevments nd da one were he beat ronnie i think was just absolutly out-standing. he was 7-2 behind nd still beat him while making 5 centurys in da match, such a great game. it just really sad. his life was cut way 2 short.
